My mum has run a dance school from our local community centre my whole life. When the pandemic hit, dancers were sent home to train on carpeted bedrooms, kitchen tiles, and paved gardens. Risk of injury was at a maximum, and the need for an individual safe space to practice was essential. That's when Solo Studio was born.

Finding the right material was key. We tried yoga mats, but they didn’t offer the controlled slip needed for ballet practice or the sound needed for tap. We tested countless samples, and finally found the perfect material. Working with a supplier who fits professional dance studios worldwide, we built a yoga mat sized product that offers dancers a professional dance floor that can be rolled up and carried with them wherever they go.


The dream of every dancer is to have an entire room dedicated to dance, and Solo Studio is the next best thing - a safe space to practice, whether you're at home, in your local dance studio, or on the way to an audition.
