What's the difference between a Solo Studio dance mat and a yoga mat?
Our mats are designed specifically for dance practice. Created from the same material found in professional dance studios worldwide. Solo Studio dance mats offer less grip than a yoga mat, to allow for the controlled glide needed for ballet and the sound needed for tap.

Can I use my mat on carpet?
Yes. But please ensure the surface under the mat is even. We don't recommend using your mat on rugs due to the risk of slipping.

Do I need to tape down my mat?
No. But please ensure the surface you lay your mat on is even.

What types of dance styles is the Solo Studio dance mat suitable for?
Our mats are perfect for most dance styles, including contemporary, ballet, jazz, and tap. As well as general dance strengthening exercises.

Can I use tap shoes on my mat?
Yes, but please watch out for loose screws on tap shoes - these can damage the surface of the mat. The odd mark is totally normal over time - particularly when using with tap shoes. These marks will not affect the performance of the mat.

Which way should I roll up my mat?
Starting from the bottom, and roll with the logo facing the outside. This ensures your mat rolls out flat each time you use it. Do not fold your mat, as this could leave visible creases.

Can I use my Solo Studio dance mat outside?
Yes. But please ensure the surface under the mat is even and dry to reduce the risk of injury. Do not leave your Solo Studio mat outside in bad weather.

How do I clean my mat?
Wipe down with warm, soapy water. Please ensure your mat is completely dry before use to prevent the risk of injury.

Is the travel bag included with the mat?
Yes, all our mats come equipped with a Solo Studio travel bag.

I’ve noticed scuffs on my mat - is this normal?
Whilst most scuffs can be wiped away after use, like any well loved tool, the odd mark is totally normal over time - particularly when using with tap shoes. These marks will not affect the performance of the mat.
